Website Organization
This website is new and it is still evolving into whatever it may eventually become. That sounds like a statement that Yogi bera might make, but you get the idea.
Please comment, as others have done. I will try to accomodate wishes as the structure of the website permits. Some of the changes I've made since my last post:
1) More items listed in the top navigational bar. For space considerations, the names may not be the same as the item as listed on the menu. For example, contacts on the nav menu equates to CCCGC Leadership Team on the menu. Play around. You'll quickly know whether you would rather use the top bar, or the menu or both.
2) Some repetition was eliminated by changing the menu item "General Meeting" to "Meeting Presentation. The General meeting is already shown in the nav bar "Maps/Meetings" and now also shownin the menu. The general meeting is also shown on the home page. This will probably change with only a reminder on the home page and a link to the pages where detailed descriptions will be available. The aim is to make the site a continuing journal of the club, with "post and delete" minimized. Share your thoughts.

What's Next for the Website
Most of the information from the old site is now available on the new site. The priority is now going to switch to updating pages describing the Officers and Directors, publicity of the many Educational Opportunities offered in the classes organized by Larry Hurley, attempting to increase membership by including an application form on the website, and describing the benefits of membership and publicity of the fine job CCCGC does in the area of community service by providing computers to those in need.
Perhaps instead of thinking of what is next for the website, we should really be thinking of what is next for CCCGC? This website is only a window into the world that CCCGC represents. The internet allows us to view the world, and conversely, the whole world is able to view us. Let's all do our part in giving them something to see.
Be proud of CCCGC, I am.
The History of CCCGC compiled by Francis "Mac" McGillivray has now been brought over to the new website. As previously mentioned, this is one area that was moved pretty much just as it previously existed. The pages are the same pages that existed.
The only thing that has changed is that now you can jump into the history at any page, without the necessity of beginning on page 1, and scrolling through to say page 10, if that was where you were intending to go. Let me know what you think.

Website Translation Available
Many members and guests have relatives in other countries. Perhaps you know someone who could benefit from some of the computer knowledge available here but struggle with the language. Or perhaps visitors from other lands who happen upon our website would like to learn more about us.
Well, now you can translate any page of this site to any one of the eight languages represented by the flags at the top right of every page. Simply click on the desired flag, and the page is translated in a matter of seconds to the desired language. The last flag will convert it back to English.
try it out. Even if English is your primary language, this translator may help you communicate in another.
I thought it might be a good idea to use this space to keep you informed on how the website is structured.
First, I have moved all of the software reviews over from the old website, and they are now available directly from the menu. There are many reviews missing, some due to Hurricane Charley, but more recently it appears that they have just been left out.
If you have reviewed software and still have a copy, please give it to me or send via email so that it might be included.
Under "Messages From/About", each topic listed is a listing in reverse cronological order of all the Meetings, Conversations, Articles, or whatever that apply to that issue. For instance if you click "webmaster", you will be able to read all of the articles that I have written to keep you up to date on the creation of this website. All articles are available from the latest, back to the first that I wrote when I began as webmaster.
The topic "General meeting" will highlight the next month's program at the top of the list, but all previous meetings will also be available for your review if you wish. You need only scroll back through the list to find what you want.
Under "Recent Postings", are the most recent 10 notices, postings, or webmaster rants that have been added to the website. There will be only 10, but all articles are still available under the other columb headings.
If you need help finding something, or have suggestions on how things might be done better, let me know. Just email me at the above address. Thank you.
