Meeting Notice

The October General Meeting on Tuesday, October 03, 2006 will be held at the in the Cenennial Room at the Port Charlotte Cultural Center, 2280 Aaron Street, Port Charlotte, Florida 33952.

The program will be a panel to answer computer questions from members. The panel is comprised of John Palmer, Bill Stevens, Yevette Pilch, Aaron Rennert, and George Whitaker.

Please jot down your "how do you do this" questions and bring them to the meeting with you. Even better, email them to me at programs@cccgc.net and I will take them to the meeting. Questions like "How do you print the 'at' sign or the "degree" or the "copyright" or "registered trademark" in a word processing program or in email or in a spreadsheet? Tune in October 3rd at the Cultural Center for these and many more answers.

Meeting Notice

As you might have heard, I have been asked to provide the program at the September 5, 2006 General meeting. The presentation will be a tour of the CCCGC website and a question and answer period.

I have been thinking about how to award a prize, and perhaps stimulate attendance at the monthly meeting. I thought that perhaps a puzzle or contest could be created.

What I am proposing is a one year membership to CCCGC to be paid by the webmaster to that one lucky person who can correctly answer the following question and who is in attendance, and has their name drawn at the conclusion of the meeting. The winner need not be a member. The idea is that those induced to visit will see the value of membership and decide to join.

OK, the problem: I live 2 miles from the CCCGC office. I normally drive to the office at a speed of 30 miles per hour. Yesterday, because of the construction work on Olean, I discovered that after one mile, I had averaged only 15 miles per hour. How fast must I drive the second mile to average my normal 30 miles per hour?

Please write your name, address, phone number and email address on a slip of paper with your answer. If correct, it will be placed in the container for the drawing. Good luck to everyone.

Meeting Notice

Shirley Roosevelt and Bridgette Colbert with
Price-Less Inkjet Cartridge Company will present “The Care and Feeding of Printers” at our August 1st meeting. They will also talk about their Port Charlotte Company's nationwide sales of printer consumables.

Products carried include Inkjet Cartridges, Laser Toner supplies, Dot Matrix Printer Ribbons, Thermal Transfer Ribbons, Remanufacturing Mail Away Kits and more

They will point out how your membership in CCCGC can benefit you in the purchase of those expensive inks. And they will be be prepared to answer your questions about printers. If you get a chance before the meeting, check out their website www.priceless-inkjet.com.

This is an additional reminder that the time, location and agenda of the July General meeting has changed.

Reminder - There will not be a computer club meeting in July at the church. However, we are still getting together. A picnic is planned for Tuesday the 4th of July.

It will be held at the Charlotte Harbor Enviromental Center located at 10941 Burnt Store Rd. Punta Gorda. The center is located 1.2 miles south of 41 on Burnt Store Road.

The time will be from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. This is a screened Pavillion with picnic tables and ceiling fans. Paper Plates, napkins, and silverware will be provided.

CCCGC will furnish the soda and meat (which will be ham and chicken). Everyone can bring a dish to pass. Join us for a real fun afternoon. Contact Esther Keirnan, Chairperson
