There was no Digital Photography Forum in July due to the cancellation of the General Meeting..

For the August Forum, John Livernois will do a presentation on using the FastStone Image Viewer. This program is a great program for quickly viewing and comparing images. It is available as a free download from www.faststone.org.

The Digital Photography Forum is held from 6:15 – 7:00 pm on the first Tuesday of the month, before the General Meeting. Hope to see you there.

In late July twelve computer systems were installed for hands-on training at the Center for Independent Living, 4300 King Highway, Unit #402 (Schoolhouse Square) in Port Charlotte  

The hand-on classes will be starting in September  The classes will be held ONLY on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Evening from 6:30-8:30 PM. Availability of classes are dependent on availability of instructors/moderators.

Advance registration is required.  When instructors/moderators are scheduled for classes, those classes will be posted on the web-site. Classe descriptions, instructors and dates will be posted on the calendar, available by clicking "calendar" in the Navigation menu at top of the website.

With the introduction of classes at CIL, evening classes at the Salvation Army site at 2735 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte will be discontinued.  Afternoon classes, however, will continue. 

Since we are introducing classes at the Center for Independent Living in September, the number of different locations where classes are held has grown to three. This makes it difficult for those intrested in attending classes to see at a glance what is available and where. Presently you must check the schedule at the Salvation Army page and the General meeting page.

Rather than making a Center for Independent Living page, all classes will be shown, color coded on the calendar. Simply click on Calendar" in the navagation bar and read the schedule for any given day. This will be phased in over the next week or so. Until it is fully implemented, the classes will also be listed under the appropriate heading in the Menu in the right sidebar.

Charlotte County is offering free computer classes at the new Mid-County Regional Library. These classes, according to information available on the Library's website, are taught by the staff of the library. The class schedule for May can be found here.

Clicking on the links shown on the calendar will take you to a page offering more information on the class and a form for registration.
