This is Adobe’s desktop publishing software that is intended for small business use. It would certainly be an invaluable asset to any small business.

This program comes with a CD-ROM of more than 300 professionally designed templates that can be used to create almost any type of business document from flyers to business cards. The templates are quite impressive. Everything from newsletters, ads, labels to posters, etc. These templates vary in their complexity and there are templates that are specifically designed to help you create your first projects by containing notes to guide you through the process.

Although the program looked quite overwhelming at first glance, I adapted to it rather quickly and in a short period of time I was able to edit several templates and print them out.

This program has so much to offer that I was very impressed. I can’t imagine a print project that couldn’t be accomplished with this program.

There are five things that really stand out in my mind about this program.

1. Extremely easy to create columns of text.

2. The text positioning and text type features are simply awesome.

3. More than 300 Professionally designed templates and photos. Plus, 4,700 clip-art illustrations.

4. The ability to load an existing PDF file into a document and the ability to output PDF files.

5. The ability to create what they call a “Tagged PDF”. Personally, I had never heard of it before and I think it’s simply incredible! With this new PDF type; the file will automatically reflow the text and pictures in a document to accommodate whatever type of screen or handheld device is viewing the document. Creating a tagged PDF file as an ebook is as simple as checking the “ebook” box on the PDF output dialog box. These files can also be read by text to speech programs.

This is an amazing piece of software. I must say that I was very pleasantly surprised. I expected the learning curve to be so high that I’d have a hard time figuring out how to make anything with it. Adobe has certainly made getting started with this program very easy to do by including the templates.
