SEARCH ENGINE COMMANDO
Software Review by Diana F. ArsenaultThe name of this program is very fitting for this piece of software. This is my third review on search engine software in the past month. Without knowing it in advance, I left the best for last. I was impressed the minute I opened the program. It is so easy to use!
The program is divided into four main groups of tools:
1. Preferences
2. Reporting
3. Submission
4. DomainsThe user interface is organized around these tools, making it easy to learn and use. The tools toolbar is visible along the left side of the screen. The toolbar will be familiar to many Windows users and is seen in many popular applications such as Microsoft Outlook.
To use the software, all you do is click on the appropriate tool button on the left side of the screen. Then the display changes on the right side of the screen to correspond with that button's functions. Then you select from the various options and enter information into the required fields on the right side of the screen.
In Search Engine Commando the concept of a "project" to contain settings and data for a particular website address is used. You can create as many projects as you like without limit. Once data and settings have been entered into a project, that project can be saved and later opened without having to enter the information again. You can even schedule a project to run unattended on a regular basis, including generation and delivery of reports to you.
If you have multiple webpages to submit, you can choose a separate list of search engines for each one, supplying tailored values for each of the required properties if you wish. If your website uses doorway pages, Search Engine Commando's robust data entry features make it easy to submit one doorway page to a short list of search engines while submitting other doorway pages, with different submission values, to other search engines, all in a single project. This is truly a unique feature.
