somebody had to transport the necessary computer equipment to and from the meetings. Another reason for the downfall of the SIG's was that students preferred the "hands on" classes at both the Cultural Center and the Town Center Mall to a lecture type program. However, there is talk about restarting some of the SIG's and using the refurbished computers in the CCPCUG office for small classes. There is one SIG that lives on and is well attended. That is the "PIG" Sig. Members attend these "dinner meetings" at various restaurants in and around Charlotte County.

Door Prizes

Door prizes started back in 1987. One copy of a software program was given to the lucky winner. Since that time it has grown and grown and developed into a major part of the monthly meetings. One ticket is given to each paid up member of the club. Sorry guests, you do not qualify. At most meetings, many, many items of software and other computer related articles are given to those fortunate enough to have the winning ticket. The vendors, who present the various programs, usually donate one or more copies of the latest programs available. At one meeting, an 'ALPS' dry ink printer was won of our members. The club usually adds to the prize list with additional software. Door prizes are just one of the many benefits of being a member.
