Do You Remember When…………?

We held our meetings at the First Federal Bank meeting room in Punta Gorda. As membership increased, we were short of chairs and were asked to bring a folding chair to avoid standing throughout the meeting.

The night Dale Davis forgot the key to the meeting room and we had to relocate elsewhere for our meeting. He will never live that down.

How many of you remember the Computer Hut rulers? It seemed that John Skinner uncovered a huge supply of rulers from the Computer Hut. He gave them away as door prizes after the software prizes had been distributed. This went on month after month until we were told that the supply was completely exhausted. It got to a point that new members were each given a ruler because John figured that everyone else probably had one by now. A month or two later guess what? John announced he located a fresh supply of (_________).
You guessed it, more rulers. Everyone, at the meeting, let out a groan and exclaimed, "No, not more rulers". We all had a big laugh over it.

Serving refreshments during the break at the meetings was a feature in the past. A few people volunteered to do this but only a very few. They supplied us with coffee, soft drinks and snacks. This was a lot of work for the few people who performed this task and due to the lack of more volunteers, the program came to an end.
