Gus Manoles
1991Several notable milestones were accomplished during my tenure that made my presidency very satisfying.
(1) Moved to United Methodist Church from grade school cafeteria.
(2) Activated Board of Directors.
(3) Had first presentation by a national software firm-Corel.
(4) Became affiliated with National Association of PC User Groups.
(5) Had first Christmas party and software giveaway.
(6) Initiated using kitchen for refreshments.
(7) Began project to gain non-profit tax status for Club."I have always felt that the Club is unique among similar service groups in that
it can provide real tangible benefits to its members, both in terms of providing new users with real support in learning the ropes of computer use and experienced users with an expansion of their enjoyment of this fantastic information medium. Best wishes always to the CCPCUG."
John Skinner
1992-1995John Skinner, our president for four years, is a man who has definitely made a significant difference in this User Group. Little did we know, back in 1987, when Aaron Rennert told John about this group of people interested in computers, that he would have such an impact on the CCPCUG. Late 1987, John began helping with some of the programs and was Program Chairman in 1988. He took the job as Newsletter Editor in 1989. In 1990, he became a Director on the Board. In 1992, John continued as Newsletter Editor and Program Manager and was installed as President of the Group. By then, the membership had grown to about 200 people. SIG groups were formed and the membership grew. It was through his loyalty, devotion, perseverance and just plain hard work that this User Group had grown to over 600 members in 1995.
