Founded

The idea of establishing a computer user's group was discussed, by several computer users, in the late months of 1983. It was formally founded in 1984 by Bill Millholland of Punta Gorda, FL.

 

Purpose and Mission

The CHARLOTTE COUNTY PC USERS' GROUP is an association that was formed early in 1984. "The purposes of the association shall be to unify and encourage cooperative relationships within the Association, to promote and facilitate research and education related to IBM Personal Computer and compatibles, to provide for the mutual education of the members of the Association, to provide a cooperative association through which members can achieve savings in the purchase of hardware and software as a result of buying in quantity in such manner as the Association shall deem fit from time to time."
